Director of Medical Affairs

Position Summary

The position will report directly to the CEO and serve as Rapalogix’s primary scientific voice in the field. Unlike traditional MSL roles at large organizations, this position is both hands-on and strategic, combining external engagement with physicians and KOLs with the responsibility of laying the foundation for Rapalogix’s medical affairs capabilities. This individual will not only drive peer-to-peer engagement but also set the strategic foundation for how Rapalogix approaches post-market data generation, digital medical affairs, and lifecycle evidence planning. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building new functions from the ground up, and wants to make an immediate impact on launch and long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and grow relationships with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, aesthetic practices, and key opinion leaders.
  • Serve as the first point of field-based scientific exchange, delivering balanced and compliant education on Rapalogix’s science, data, and products.
  • Lead development of post-market data strategy, including pharmacovigilance, real- world evidence generation, and lifecycle planning for label expansions and future indications.
  • Integrate digital and data strategy into medical affairs by leveraging digital platforms, AI, CRM tools, and analytics to enhance HCP engagement, capture real-time insights, drive innovative evidence generation, and ensure compliance through automated documentation and content controls.
  • Gather and synthesize clinical and market insights to inform R&D priorities, clinical development, and launch strategy.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Director of R&D to shape medical affairs strategy and integrate scientific engagement into the broader business.
  • Build core medical affairs processes and best practices, ensuring compliance and scalability as the company grows.
  • Provide scientific training and resources to internal teams, supporting alignment across commercial and R&D.
  • Represent Rapalogix Health at medical congresses, professional meetings, and advisory boards.
  • Contribute to early clinical studies, investigator-initiated trial discussions, and KOL advisory programs.

Qualificartions

  • Advanced degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP/PA, or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience in medical affairs, including prior MSL or strategic medical role in aesthetics, dermatology, or adjacent specialty.
  • Demonstrated success in building credibility with KOLs and healthcare providers.
  • Experience designing and executing post-market evidence and pharmacovigilance programs.
  • Familiarity with digital engagement platforms, CRM tools, or medical affairs analytics.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate without a predefined playbook.
  • Comfort working in a startup environment where adaptability, resourcefulness, and initiative are critical.
  • Prior experience in an early-stage launch environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $160,000-$180,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Bonus: Annual bonus target tied to performance
